Lions sleep for 16 to 20 hours a day. They most often hunt at dawn or dusk, but can adapt to their prey to change their schedule. They communicate using vocalizations, head rubbing, licking, facial expressions, chemical marking, and visual marking. Lions are known for their fierce roar, but may also growl, meow, snarl, and purr.

Siberian Tiger.

Habit:

The primary habitats of the Siberian tiger are taiga, or snow forest, birch forest, and boreal forest. They live in very harsh conditions. Winters are extremely cold, and snowfall can be very high during the winter. The vast majority of the population lives in remote mountainous regions, far from any human settlement. Much of their habitat choice also revolves around prey availability.

Behavior:

Siberian tigers are solitary creatures, and do not tolerate one another’s company. They are extremely territorial, and their territories can be hundreds of square miles long.

The tigers mark their territories by using scent marking, frequently with urine. Most of their activity occurs at night, as they are nocturnal. During their nights, the cats patrol their territories and search for prey.

If you don’t believe then read the below given facts why Siberian tiger has the dominance over big African lion and even Bengal tiger who is just slightly smaller than Siberian tiger is capable of killing the African lion because in recent Bengal tiger has killed the African lion in Turkey zoo.

Why Tiger is Dominant:

  • Tiger has a strong muscular body than the African lion.
  • Tigers have bigger canine teeth than the African lion.
  • Tigers has powerful forelimbs and paws than African Lion.
  • Unlike other cats, tigers are very good swimmers which helps them to fight or hunt even in water also.
  • African lions have a bigger skull than a Siberian tiger but tigers have bigger cranial volumes than African lion means they have a bigger brain which makes them far intelligent and clever than lions.
  • Tiger has stronger hind legs through which he can stand and can maul simultaneously with both paws where the African lion needs one paw and both hind legs to stand. Lion can also stand on hind legs but for a few seconds only because they have weaker hind legs.
